Unless you’re a professional model,
which the majority of us aren’t, being in front of the camera can be an uncomfortable experience. The main thing is - we want to look GOOD. Well, I’ve got you covered! I’m your new best friend looking out for you to make sure that every angle is flattering. My clients love working with me because I give specific posing direction. I don’t just leave you hanging with a vague prompt, cross my fingers, and say I’ll capture the in-between good moments. The aesthetically beautiful moments I create are made with care and lots of attention to detail. Prospective clients comment that they love my photographs because the people in them look natural and candid. The truth is, my clients look natural because they’re relaxed. And they’re relaxed because they trust me.
Here are just a few samples from real sessions with before-and-after results of my direction. Some of the adjustments are subtle, but they make a big difference:

I adjusted her posture to elongate her body, asked her to place her hand on his leg to create a connection point that was more flattering and showed off their rings.

I had the groom adjust the angle of his arm and turned his face away from the camera to create a more dynamic and visually appealing pose.

I adjusted the balance of their lean towards each other to elongate her neck and eliminate the straining look on his neck.

I also watch for wayward strands of hair. It may not look like a huge distractor, but you can see that fixing it makes the image cleaner and brings the focus back to their faces.

This shows a hair correction as well as adjusting the client's posture to elongate her neck and create a soft curve to her body.

In order to create a thinner neck, client was asked to open up her shoulders towards the camera. Male client was asked to stand up straight to refine his posture. The final image is also a sample of hair retouching that I do on select images.

By telling the clients how to angle their bodies, place their hands, shift weight, and angle their heads, I created a more flattering and relaxed look to the poses.

The initial lean was too far and his legs looked awkward, so I asked him to take a small step in towards her to make the pose look softer. And yes, I purposefully framed them between those two umbrellas! Thanks for noticing! ;)

Asked client to bend arm to look more relaxed and visually pleasing to the eye.

Adjusted her left leg in closer with a bend to create a more flattering shape in the body.

Client had mentioned she was self-conscious about her arms looking big. So I instructed her to hold her dress at a certain angle to make her arm more streamlined.

A simple change to the tilt of their heads created a more flattering angle for the camera.
